The Quiltmakers of Gee’s Bend is a quilting collective of more than 50 women who live in Gee’s Bend, Ala. They developed a distinctive, bold, and sophisticated quilting style that has been passed down through six generations. Following a 2002 exhibition in Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the quilts of Gee’s Bend are now internationally renowned.
