An overview of Smart Limits

AT&T Smart Limits for Wireless is an online service that enables you to provide your children with the freedom and security of a wireless device, and allows you to set sensible boundaries for its use.

For $4.99/month per line you can start with an easy online setup that allows you to determine how and when your child can use the phone.

Set limits for:

  • The number of text and Instant Messages (IMs).
  • Dollar amount of downloadable purchases (Ringtones, games, etc.)
  • Web browsing usage allowed per billing cycle.
  • Time of day the phone can be used (for messaging, browsing, and outbound calling.)
  • Who the phone can be used to call or text (incoming and outgoing) by blocking or allowing certain numbers.
  • Access to inappropriate content for children.

As your child reaches the limits you have set, a restriction notification for their action will be sent to the device. At this time we cannot set minute limits, but the Day Restriction and Block all Outgoing Calls feature can be used to reduce outgoing calls. Calls to and from 911 will continue to be allowed regardless of the limits you set.
