Privacy Manager®


  • To use Privacy Manager®

    1. An unidentified caller dials your home.
    2. Privacy Manager® intercepts the caller before your phone rings.
    3. If the caller chooses to identify himself, Privacy Manager® rings your line.
    4. When you answer, you hear the caller's name and you can choose to:
      • Press 1 to accept the call.
      • Press 2 to decline the call.
      • Press 3 to refuse a sales call.
    5. If you pressed 1, the call goes through. If you pressed 2 or 3, the caller will hear a brief message from Privacy Manager® and then the call is disconnected.
  • To use the PIN feature

    1. The callers dial your number and Privacy Manager® intercepts the call.
    2. Upon hearing the Privacy Manager® announcement, the caller enters the PIN that you previously selected.
    3. The call is connected to you immediately.
    4. You will hear a distinctive ring* (three short rings in a row), and you receive the call without hearing the Privacy Manager® prompts.
    5. * The distinctive ring feature is not available in all areas.

  • To establish or change your PIN

    • Just dial 1-888-774-5212 and follow the simple instructions.
    • You may establish or change your PIN only from the line upon which Privacy Manager® resides.
    • The PIN setup process will take effect approximately one hour from the completion of your call.
    • PINs may be two-, three- or four-numeric digits in length.
    • If you forget your PIN, you will need to call 1-888-774-5212 and request another PIN.
