CONSUMER: Residential Customers Nationwide

Overview — What the Merger Means

Products and Services:
Residential customers of both the pre-acquisition AT&T and SBC companies will continue to receive service, pay their bills and request customer service support as they always have. Beginning mid-December, millions of customers who have long distance service from the pre-merger AT&T, live in the 13-state SBC local service area, and have SBC local phone service will be eligible for compelling savings, including discounts on AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet, Cingular Wireless®, AT&T| DISH Network satellite TV service. Additionally, in early 2006 the new AT&T family of companies will continue introducing new and exciting offers for those customers who are interested in new options.

Transition Plans:
Existing customers who wish to add new services or make other changes will be notified of any changes when they place their order. The new AT&T name will not begin appear on bills of customers from either company until February 2006 or later. In the meantime, customers should continue to make payments as they always have.
