AT&T* today announced that Henkel, a leader in the global marketplace, distributing leading brands and technologies worldwide, has selected AT&T as its lead global provider for its global communications requirements in a five-year multi-million dollar agreement.
By working with the best in class global suppliers, such as AT&T, Henkel aims to make the best use of its information technology assets, reduce costs, and improve the quality of its services. Henkel aims to improve intercompany collaboration and to better enable the company to meet the needs of its customers worldwide.
AT&T will manage the worldwide global network infrastructure supporting Henkel’s 50,000 employees in more than 100 countries. The key focus of the deal will see AT&T support a range of managed services across its network to Henkel locations worldwide.
By providing a global Internet Protocol (IP) network to Henkel, AT&T will be able to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of services and give Henkel the foundation to deploy scalable, resilient, and secure transformation applications and services, such as IP telephony, collaboration tools, such as video conferencing and web-meeting services, and other managed network services throughout their global operations.
AT&T is providing Henkel with a bespoke integrated eBonding solution for Ticketing and Ordering, which is geared at providing improved productivity, flexibility, as well as an increase in the speed and accuracy of their network transactions. AT&T eBonding, which is part of the AT&T BusinessDirect® Portfolio, enables a customer's internal systems to interact directly with AT&T's internal systems through an XML interface to accomplish high volumes of network-management tasks without human intervention.
In addition to this core networking agreement, Henkel will also have the benefits of AT&T’s wireless services in the U.S.. AT&T will provide mobility solutions to around 2,500 Henkel employees in the U.S., supporting a variety of devices and applications including smartphones, 3G data service, and cellular voice services.
“AT&T understands our network requirements and supports us in fulfilling the needs of our IT users better and more cost effectively. This is why we have chosen AT&T as our preferred global supplier for the corporation,” explained Dr. Peter Wroblowski, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Henkel.
“With the support of AT&T, Henkel will have access to an optimized network structure around the world and the opportunity to concentrate more strongly on its core business processes. Our solutions aim to provide Henkel with significant increases in efficiency, flexible services and easier management,” added Tom Regent, head of AT&T in Europe, Middle East & Africa. “By providing a globally consistent IP platform, Henkel has access to a flexible technology foundation to support its worldwide operations to meet the on-going development of its business.”
