AT&T* today announced it has opened a new 3,334 square-foot retail store in Southaven to address the growing demand for advanced wireless and wired products and services. The new freestanding store, located at 115 Goodman Rd., replaces the former 1,840 square-foot AT&T retail store located at 6502 Towne Center Loop.

“The new Southaven retail store is another example that showcases AT&T’s commitment to our community,” said State Representative Wanda Jennings.

The new store features a state-of-the-art, hands-on design to engage shoppers and provide a “try before you buy” service experience. Trained consultants will provide demonstrations of a wide range of products and services, including the latest in mobile devices, such as the BlackBerry Torch, the iPhone 4, exclusive Windows Phone 7 handsets which include the HTC Surround, LG Quantum™ and the Samsung Focus, as well as AT&T U-verseSM  services, which include AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice.

AT&T’s investment in Southaven builds on our reputation as a strong region for business investment,” said State Senator Merle Flowers. “Our communities are made stronger and more attractive when we have leading technology resources close at hand like a new and convenient AT&T store in the neighborhood.”

Customers can also test drive various wireless data applications, including AT&T Navigator which provides GPS navigation with turn-by-turn directions, or AT&T Family Map, a family locator service designed to help give parents peace of mind.

“Investment like this continues to drive economic growth in our area,” said Southaven Chamber Executive Director Ginger Adams. “We applaud state leaders like State Senators Wanda Jennings and Merle Flowers and for ensuring Mississippi is a business friendly state.”

“We are focused on making our customers’ in-store experience exceptional, and that begins with a convenient store location, simplistic layout and knowledgeable staff,” said Jim Thorpe, vice president and general manager for AT&T’s wireless operations in Tennessee and Kentucky. “Customers can try out our newest line-up of quick messaging devices and smartphones when they visit this Southaven location.”

AT&T offers simple, competitively priced plans and a next-generation wireless network that provides the latest technology, including phones with greater functionality, a wide range of useful features, superior sound quality and high speed data connectivity.

“This new retail store in Southaven provides greater convenience and a hands-on experience with our products and services,” said Gunner Goad, regional director, AT&T Mississippi.

The Southaven store is led by Chris Edwards and has a staff of 25 employees who are trained to assist both consumer and business customers with purchasing decisions, customer service and technical support.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12-6 p.m.  The phone number is (662) 349-0408.
