AT&T* and Georgia-based startup E3 Greentech today announced an agreement to provide wireless access to a central unit, the E3 Intelligent Bridge located in the home, to help homeowners and property managers optimize their energy use by automatically reducing energy waste.
E3 Greentech’s s Home Energy Management System (HEMS), one of the most innovative solution’s available today in smart grid market technology, utilizes a cloud-based services platform and intelligent software in combination with in-home energy optimization hardware to deliver savings results effortlessly. It provides property owners the ability to more effectively monitor and manage energy consumption and automatically reduce energy waste.
The E3 solution uses adaptive software and techniques capable of learning and dynamically optimizing energy use with the premise to match – rather than control – consumer behavior. The smart grid technology reduces energy waste delivering energy savings of 15 percent or greater and reductions in peak energy demand of 25 percent or greater. .By optimizing energy use dynamically, E3 acts in sync with a consumer’s lifestyle.
“AT&T looks for opportunities to provide cost saving initiatives for our customers and E3 Greentech is doing just that by providing its customers with welcomed energy savings,” said Glenn Lurie, president of emerging devices, resale and partnerships, AT&T. “We look forward to working with E3 Greentech on E3 Intelligent Bridge.”
“E3 Greentech is overwhelmingly excited about being able to take the smart grid wireless, we have the highest level of confidence in the ability of AT&T’s wireless network to deliver E3’s next generation services to homeowners, property managers and utilities alike” said Greg Chambers, chief technology officer of E3 Greentech.
