AT&T* announced today that it has been granted the Frost & Sullivan 2011 North American Price Performance Value Leadership Award1 for its recently enhanced enterprise cloud solution, AT&T Synaptic Compute as a ServiceSM. Frost & Sullivan highlighted AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service as an easy-to-use, feature-rich cloud infrastructure as a service offer with integrated security and high quality customer support.
AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service can allow businesses simple, on-demand access to scalable computing capacity on a pay-per-use pricing basis, with a choice of network options including internet as well as its AT&T Virtual Private Network service.
“As the cloud infrastructure space matures, AT&T has helped redefine the integral concept of ‘pay per use’ in a way that uniquely meets customer needs for on-demand computing,” wrote Lynda Stadtmueller from Stratecast Partners, a division of Frost & Sullivan. She also noted how recent enhancements to AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service pricing fully embrace the cloud standard of “allowing users to pay for precisely the amount of resources they need.”
To choose a winner of the Price Performance Value Leadership Award for Cloud Infrastructure Services, Frost & Sullivan evaluated a number of criteria, from price competitiveness, features, and ease of use, to service support and product flexibility to clients’ needs. AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service led the way across the board.
Frost & Sullivan commended AT&T for the rich security and support features offered as a standard part of the AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service solution. AT&T’s integrated firewall protection and email- and web-based support help differentiate it from other cloud infrastructure providers.
Last month, AT&T announced additional enhancements to the cloud solution, including integration with AT&T’s VPN Service to enable virtual private clouds. In recognizing AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service with the Price Performance Value Leadership Award, Frost & Sullivan cited AT&T’s ability to combine its cloud and VPN capabilities as a key customer benefit. AT&T also now offers an expanded number of operating system templates, improvements to firewall policies to meet special security requirements, and new self-service and self-provisioning capabilities.
These enhancements to AT&T Synaptic Compute as a Service allow customers to more easily integrate their cloud computing environment and their AT&T VPN, with simplified purchasing, configuration, and management. A new, highly flexible model for configuration and pricing of virtual servers provides customers with the opportunity for greater cost savings.
