Overview
The number of apps and the ways we can access them continues to grow. Today, AT&T U-verse® TV customers can choose from several interactive apps, available right on their TV.
Soon, we'll enable developers to deliver more innovation to customers by easing the complexity for app developers of creating and writing apps for numerous platforms. And we want to bring customers more choices to enhance their experience, in a way that's easy to navigate and find what interests them.
We're working with developers to create truly interactive applications where any Wi-Fi connected or network-enabled device, such as smartphones, tablets, and computers, can communicate with the U-verse® TV receiver, opening up a whole new world of entertainment possibilities and engaging apps.
We want to let developers to use mobile devices as a server, meaning it can share media and data with the receiver to create new interactivity on a TV screen.
About U-verse® Enabled Apps and the AT&T Foundry™
At the AT&T Foundry™, we've started collaborating with developers to create apps and services for this new platform and to make it possible to bring products and innovation to market faster than ever before. We want to enable developers to bring new apps and experiences to life for our U-verse® customers.
The Future
AT&T U-verse® Enabled Apps will bring more choice by expanding the development of U-verse® TV services and features to a larger group of application developers and connecting more devices. A few prototype examples include:
- View photos or play music from your smartphone on your TV.
- Info and photos from the TV show you're watching are automatically loaded on your tablet.
- Display your laptop screen over Wi-Fi on your TV.
- Connect to your social networks to see what your friends are watching, then watch that show on your TV.
