This year, we issued a challenge to the MOFILM community of aspiring filmmakers – show us how what we do with technology matters to you. The filmmakers responded. Director Sean Cunningham's comedic look at the different ways we use mobile tech won us over, and also won the top prize at the MOFILM awards at SXSW. Watch the full video.

As SXSW attendees poured into Austin, Texas, from all around the world, we collaborated with American Airlines and more than 60 developers to see what mobile solutions could be created to enhance the travel experience. The ideas brought to life in the 30-hour timeframe proved that the sky’s the limit for innovation. Read more about the hackathon and our three winners.

Breaking down barriers and encouraging rapid innovation, AT&T Hackathons provide developers with the inspiration, connection and opportunities they need to turn their ideas for mobile apps and services into reality. At SXSWi 2013, we reunited with two developers who are moving innovation forward through their previous success at AT&T Hackathons. Check out the video to see how Victoria Walker, CEO of Rode Dog, and Ruggero Scorcioni, developer of Good Times, turned their 36-hour hackathon experiences into their full-time dreams.

Let’s be honest, networking can be awkward. But it’s also a valuable practice that can change the course of your career. As many veterans can attest, SXSW is all about meeting new people, clients and even life-long friends. So put those inhibitions aside, and get to networking with these helpful tips from

Technology, Brands and the Human Level

Giving technology a human feel was at the heart of the conversation at SXSW panel "Can Ad Agencies and Brands Humanize Technology?" where AT&T's  VP of Brand and Identity, Gregg Heard, spoke.

Some of AT&T's best campaigns have a human story to tell such as the It Can Wait campaign. For the first time ever AT&T used Twitter to organically count pledges and engage users to feel connected and be a part of the movement.

Winning moments during the Olympic Games were broadcast in real time when AT&T debuted its summer commercials.  The ads told a story from the users perspective and consumers were engaged by the humanistic tale.

The best way to tell a brands story through technology is to mask it and let the story come through. Brining a human connection to a brand's tone and context is where customers engage the most.

Wandering around SXSW and find yourself asking, is there an app for that? Well, you’re in luck. We’ve compiled some of our favorite apps for SXSW attendees. These apps are meant to not just be entertaining, but also to help make your trip to Austin a little bit easier.

March 10, 1:00 p.m. CT

Our friends at the brand advocacy platform Crowdtap are in Austin again this year for SXSW. Check out their take on the big trends:

At Crowdtap, the major theme we see this year is a world that is becoming much more collaborative. Information is open, ideas are easily crowdsourced, everyone has a voice, and tools exist for marketers to truly market with consumers, not at them.

That's what we get excited about when thinking about The Future, a future which is always pioneered at SXSW. This year, we are releasing a white paper titled The Collaborative Marketing Future during the event. Next year in Austin, around this time, it will likely already be old news.

The SXSW AT&T and American Airlines #TravelHack has officially kicked off! With $10,000 on the line, the room is packed with developers eager to network, code and bring new travel apps and services to life. As developers race against the clock to ready their innovations, we can’t wait to see what will be pitched tomorrow at 5 p.m. For real-time updates, stay tuned to @ATTdeveloper, or check out #ATThack.

There’s even a chance to win cash and other prizes – just saying.
