AT&T Spends $12 Billion with Diverse Suppliers and Surpasses Corporate Goal Reaching 23 Percent of AT&T's Total Spend
$12 billion spent with certified diverse suppliers in 2011 is 23 percent of AT&T's total spend

AT&T set one of the most aggressive supplier diversity goals—to reach 21.5 percent of its total spend with certified diverse businesses by 2012. In 2011, AT&T spent $12 billion with diverse suppliers, surpassing the corporate goal one year ahead of schedule.

I’m proud of our commitment to supplier diversity and even prouder we reached our goal one year ahead of schedule.”
The AT&T Global Supplier Diversity organization connects certified diverse businesses with opportunities to provide products and services to AT&T around the world. AT&T supplier diversity promotes, increases and improves the overall participation of minority, women, and service disabled veteran-owned businesses in its supply chain.
AT&T continues to look for diverse suppliers in key strategic areas like mobile Internet, wireless, U-verse, and cloud services. Today more than ever, AT&T is accelerating the pace of innovation—which means working with innovative suppliers who can take AT&T to the next level.
AT&T has numerous programs in place to identify and develop certified diverse suppliers. One such program is Operation Hand Salute, a ground-breaking national 12 month education and mentoring program for service disabled veteran business CEOs. The initiative provides cutting-edge training and mentoring for up to 15 qualified CEOs with the goal of improving their business operations and enhancing their ability to win corporate contracts.
Earlier this year, AT&T was ranked No. 1 in the DiversityBusiness.com Top 50 Companies for Multicultural Business Opportunities list. In addition, AT&T was listed to the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council list of top corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises for the 13th straight year.
