AT&T Communications Workers of America Agree to Continue Negotiations as Midwest, East, Legacy T Core Wireline Contracts Expire

Dallas, Texas, April 08, 2012

While AT&T did not reach a settlement with the Communications Workers of America by the expiration of the Midwest, East and Legacy T Core Wireline contracts, the parties have agreed to continue to negotiate.

The ongoing negotiations reflect the spirit of the longstanding relationship between the company and the union.  Employees will work under the terms of the expired contract while negotiations continue.

The Midwest contract covers more than 17,000 employees in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin and expired at 11:59 p.m. CDT. The East and Legacy T contracts expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT. The East contract covers more than 3,000 employees in Connecticut and the Legacy T contract covers nearly 6,000 employees spread across the country. 

AT&T continues to bargain with the CWA in the West region, where the contract expires at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
