AT&T Announces New Contract with Northwestern Business College

AT&T Provides Networking Solution to Chicago-Area College

Chicago, Illinois, March 7, 2006

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new contract to provide an IP network solution to Northwestern Business College, a private business college with campuses in Chicago, Bridgeview and Naperville, Illinois.

Under the terms of the five-year contract, AT&T companies will deliver a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPN solution to connect all three of Northwestern Business College's campuses. This solution will provide the college with a fully managed Wide Area Network (WAN) for faster data transmission, using an IP-based service backbone. The single multiservice network will also allow dedicated access for Internet and extranet connectivity.

This solution, furthermore, aligns with AT&T's convergence strategy, enabling Northwestern Business College's network infrastructure to deliver greater levels of efficiency and productivity.

In addition, the agreement calls for network management and data customer premise equipment (CPE) support services for complete management and maintenance of the college's new network. AT&T is the primary provider of voice and network services to Northwestern Business College.

"We wanted our students and faculty to have reliable access not only to the Internet but also to our other campuses as well for more efficient communication across our entire network," said Omar Bernal, chief information officer, Northwestern Business College. "By working with AT&T, we will be able to offer our students a secure and fully managed WAN to help them further their education through expanded capabilities."

"We are pleased to provide our network services to Northwestern Business College," said Vicki Jones, president-Business Communications Services, AT&T Global Services, Inc. "Our services will provide a secure, reliable WAN and exceptional network performance, thereby, enabling the college to provide better service and functionality to its students."
