AT&T Announces New Contract with John I Haas Inc.
AT&T Deploys Hosting and Network Services Solution for Largest Hops Grower in the Pacific Northwest
Washington, District of Columbia, April 12, 2006
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new contract to provide enterprise hosting and network services to John I. Haas Inc., a privately owned agricultural company that grows, trades, and processes hops and hops products worldwide. The company has its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Under the terms of the two-year contract, AT&T will implement data hosting and a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) private network. The MPLS network serves as a backbone technology, delivering a private IP-based network and enabling easier use of various communications services, such as videoconferencing and audioconferencing. John I. Haas Inc. intends to integrate IP data, VoIP and videoconferencing over the single MPLS network, allowing more effective use of IT resources.
AT&T's MPLS network includes more than 1,500 nodes, with service availability in more than 127 countries.
The enterprise hosting service will provide John I. Haas Inc. with end-to-end management of its network, servers and applications. In addition, the service will deliver comprehensive monitoring and management options, performance reporting and direct connectivity to the AT&T Global Network.
This solution, deployed to John I. Haas Inc.'s locations in Yakima, Wash., and Washington, D.C., provides increased network reliability and security. This solution further aligns with AT&T's customer-focused convergence strategy, enabling John I. Haas Inc. to seamlessly integrate future applications and communications services.
"AT&T is providing our company with an end-to-end solution that we expect will deliver a more robust and secure network," said Kyle Lambert, vice president of Information Solutions, John I. Haas Inc. "We also expect new operational efficiencies and lower overall costs as a result of this solution. AT&T clearly has the technical expertise to coordinate all necessary implementation activities and services, which will make the implementation phase seamless and transparent to our users."
