Security Savings Bank Selects AT&T to Speed Up Network
Olathe, Kansas, June 21, 2006
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced a three-year contract to upgrade the voice and data network of Security Savings Bank. The Olathe, Kan.-based bank has 11 branches and one loan production office in seven Kansas communities and more than $800 million in assets. The agreement renews and expands a long-standing relationship between the two companies.
Security Savings Bank serves the banking needs of Kansas families and businesses. The passion of their employees and their commitment to helping customers build better lives differentiates Security Savings Bank from large out-of-state financial institutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will integrate Security Savings Bank's voice and data into a single Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based Internet Protocol (IP) network. The MPLS-enabled network significantly increases the amount of voice and data that can flow through the network. The solution will also provide augmented security and network redundancy, creating a secure environment for data transactions across the network.
"The AT&T solution provides greater capability for data encryption, gives us multiple redundant communications channels and can automatically switch to a backup data center in the event of a network failure," said Jim Horlacher, director of information technology for Security Savings Bank. "Our rapid growth has strained our existing network, so these improvements will ensure that our customers continue to get the exceptional service they expect and deserve."
Security Service Bank's increased network capacity will improve the performance of its mission-critical enterprise applications by facilitating application prioritization to streamline and prioritize network traffic. Such network efficiency will improve the overall experience for the end-user. In addition, it will increase customer satisfaction for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) by ensuring a consistently high-performing application experience.
The contract also includes high speed Internet access as well as local, long distance, hardware and toll-free services.
