AT&T Announces New Three-Year Data Services Contract with First National Security Company

DeQueen, Arkansas, August 3, 2006

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today a new data services contract with First National Security Company, an Arkansas-based financial services provider with 27 branch locations across Arkansas and 3 branch locations in Oklahoma. Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will implement a managed data network solution at all First National Bank locations, using Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Private Network Transport (PNT). By delivering an MPLS-based Internet Protocol (IP) network, First National Security Company will implement a scalable, dependable network solution that will ensure rapid, consistent access to business-critical data over AT&T's MPLS-enabled IP backbone.

In addition, this solution will provide the bank with increased bandwidth that is needed in order to merge its existing networks and to support future IP applications, such as Voice over IP (VoIP). The enhanced solution will provide a unified wide area network (WAN) infrastructure, supporting the transport of data from the hub location to any bank branch. AT&T will manage the network, allowing the bank to consolidate its IT resources and deliver improved and expanded customer service.

This solution, and its alignment with AT&T's convergence strategy, will make it possible for the bank to reach superior levels of security and reliability, enhancing overall customer service.

"We were in search of a provider capable of consolidating our networking tools under a single data solution and delivering connectivity between our headquarters location and our branch offices," said Ray Mashburn, vice president of Data Processing of First National Security Company. "With the solution provided by AT&T, we're confident that we will not only connect all locations under one network infrastructure but will also see increased reliability and flexible bandwidth for implementation of future applications."
