AT&T Selected by Cass Medical Center for New Network Services Contract

Critical-Access Hospital Upgrades Network With AT&T Services

Harrisonville, Missouri, September 27, 2006

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new network services contract with Cass Medical Center (CMC), a critical-access hospital with 10 locations serving residents of Cass County, Mo. Under the terms of the contract, AT&T will serve as the primary network and data services provider to CMC, integrating AT&T Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Private Network Transport (PNT) service to all CMC locations.

AT&T MPLS PNT is a fully managed solution that will allow CMC to take advantage of online reporting and disaster-recovery capabilities. CMC will rely on the network to support its transmission of sensitive critical patient records, such as X-ray reports and patient test results, among its various locations.

In alignment with AT&T's customer-focused convergence strategy, the core of the network will connect the main hospital with all CMC clinics and medical facilities. CMC will also be able to improve customer service throughout its system thanks to a highly reliable and scaleable network. The network will also be capable of supporting future growth and advanced high-bandwidth applications in the future.

"We needed a secure and cost-effective solution that would enhance our network for a more efficient means of transporting critical data, such as patient X-rays," said Chris Lang, CEO of Cass Medical Center. "AT&T MPLS PNT will give us added network reliability and redundancy so that we can focus on our core business: our patients."
