AT&T Lowers International Calling Rates to India and Pakistan
Plan Provides Great Value and More Savings to Consumers Calling the Region.
San Antonio, Texas, December 5, 2006
To help bolster savings and provide additional value for international callers, AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced new pricing and reduced per-minute rates for calling India and Pakistan.
The India 60 Plus international calling plan is now available for just $11.99 a month, reduced from $14.95 — that equals a 12-month savings of more than $35! The plan is designed for consumers who frequently call India or Pakistan and provides a recurring bucket of 60 direct-dialed minutes of long distance calls each month without time-of-day or day-of-the-week restrictions. Additional monthly minutes, beyond the bucket of 60 minutes, are charged at a flat rate of 19 cents a minute. Unused monthly minutes included in the plan are not transferable to the next month.
"This plan provides our customers who frequently call the region with straightforward savings and more value," said Anthony Tuggle, vice president, AT&T Consumer. "We're constantly evaluating our international long distance offers to come up with ways to help our customers get the best value in the market."
AT&T Long Distance calling card minutes are charged at the same usage rate as direct-dialed calls, and discounts will be applied to calling card surcharges. Eligible customers must have a domestic long distance plan from AT&T.
While the 60-minute block of time applies to calls made only to India and Pakistan, this plan also includes competitive per-minute rates to more than 200 other countries; for example:
