Control Risks Selects AT&T to Provide Secure Worldwide Network
Global VPN Is Key Application Enabler for Leading Risk Consultancy
San Antonio, Texas, March 21, 2007
LONDON — AT&T Inc. (T:NYSE) today announced that Control Risks, a leading specialist risk consultancy, has selected AT&T in a three-year agreement to provide a global communications infrastructure and associated advanced communications services.
Control Risks provides advice and services that enable clients to manage strategic and operational risks. By the nature of its operations the business is highly global, and the company operates in Europe, North America, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Australasia. Having highly reliable, secure real-time communications is vital to its business.
AT&T will provide a virtual private network (VPN) connecting 24 Control Risk locations in 18 countries and will support the company with managed Internet access and remote access to the corporate network for traveling employees. The fully encrypted VPN will enable the global deployment of mission-critical applications such as client relationship management (CRM) software and other enterprisewide applications and tools and is backed by AT&T-managed firewall service.
For Control Risks, an important criterion in selecting AT&T was the depth and reach of AT&T's global network infrastructure. The ability to provide a consistent service in such diverse locations as Dubai, Jakarta, Bogotá and Tokyo is critical to the fast-growing company.
"Our network is a critical enabler for core business applications" explained Martin Joy, CIO for Control Risks. "We were impressed not only by the depth and quality of AT&T's technology but also by the time they spent in understanding our business and proposing innovative and effective solutions that matched our requirements. This ability to really get close to our business was what made AT&T different from the other suppliers."
