AT&T Selected to Provide Voice and Data Services to Independent Bank Corporation
Integrated Solution Provides Seamless Network Expansion and Enhanced Operational Efficiencies
Ionia, Michigan, June 5, 2007
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that Independent Bank Corporation (IBC) (NASDAQ: IBCP), a leading Michigan-based bank holding company, has awarded AT&T a three-year contract to provide voice and data network services. IBC provides a broad spectrum of personal and commercial financial services to more than 120 locations throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula.
Under the agreement, AT&T will integrate IBC's voice, data and Internet services with the AT&T Business Network (ABN) offer. The solution bundles local and long distance voice, data and managed Internet services into a single contract — with a single bill — and provides discounts across services. ABN ensures operational efficiencies as IBC migrates to AT&T's Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled Private Network Transport (PNT) platform.
The platform offers IBC optimum network transactions and delivers greater reliability and efficiency for its around-the-clock operations. The solution enables IBC to prioritize network traffic to ensure that the company's multiple locations have the necessary bandwidth to access and send the financial information they need when they need it.
"The excellent relationship between the AT&T Account Team and IBC's Information Technology Data and Telecommunications Team will ensure that the AT&T network services will provide tremendous cost-efficiencies and peak network performance," said Pete Graves, chief information officer, IBC. "We are confident that this solution will help us further our mission to provide IBC customers with the most convenient, reliable and secure banking and financial services experience."
A significant advantage of ABN is its eServicing capabilities, which are provided by the secure, award-winning AT&T BusinessDirect® portal. Through the AT&T BusinessDirect Web portal, IBC has immediate access to real-time information on the performance of its network services and a direct connection to electronic billing and ordering systems.
