AT&T Drops Monthly Broadband Price in Southeast - and Increases Downstream Speed

New Customers in Southeast who Order by June 30 Also Receive $75 Cash Back

Company Says There's Never Been a Better Time to Switch from Dial-Up Service

San Antonio, Texas, June 15, 2007

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new broadband offer designed to promote the benefits of broadband and deliver even greater value to today's consumers — especially those still on dial-up service.

Available beginning this Saturday through June 30, new residential broadband customers in the company's Southeast region can take advantage of a first-time monthly price of $19.95 for FastAccess DSL Lite, a $5 difference from the previous $24.95 monthly charge. New customers will also receive twice the normal Lite downstream speed — moving from up to 256 Kilobits per second (Kbps) to now up to 768 Kbps.

On top of this, new subscribers will also benefit from savings of $75 cash back for simply joining AT&T as a broadband customer, regardless of their selected speed tier and service plan. These offers are available at both www.att.com and through the company's call centers at (888) 757-6500.

"Today's offer is a great opportunity for customers still relying on a dial-up service to take advantage of the benefits of broadband with better pricing and better speeds," said Bob Daniel, AT&T Southeast senior vice president of consumer services. "Our goal is to deliver a unique high speed Internet experience that offers a competitive combination of speed, savings, choice and value — all of which are reflected in today's offers for FastAccess DSL Lite."

To sweeten the broadband benefits for existing residential FastAccess DSL Lite customers, beginning Saturday, these customers will automatically receive the higher downstream speed (up to 768 Kbps) with no change to their current monthly price.

AT&T offers a wide range of broadband products and services in the Southeast including:

  • FastAccess DSL Lite (up to 768 Kbps downstream; up to 128 Kbps upstream) — $19.95/month.
  • FastAccess DSL Ultra (up to 1.5 Mbps downstream; up to 256 Kbps upstream) — $32.95/month
  • FastAccess Xtreme (up to 3.0 Mbps downstream; up to 384 Kbps upstream) — $37.95/month
  • FastAccess Xtreme 6.0 (up to 6.0 Mbps downstream; up to 512 Kbps upstream) — $42.95/month

Both new and existing AT&T broadband customers can experience industry-leading safety and security features and a core offering of customer-driven features to further customize the online experience. AT&T is the nation's leading broadband provider, with 12.9 million high speed Internet lines in service.
