CSK Auto Selects AT&T for Voice, Data and Network-Integration Services
AT&T's Solution Will Drive Technology Growth for Retailer of Auto Parts
Phoenix, Arizona, July 11, 2007
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has announced that CSK Auto Corp. (NYSE: CAO) has signed a new three-year contract with AT&T. Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide CSK Auto with voice and data services, including a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) for CSK Auto's headquarters, field and store locations. AT&T will also upgrade and integrate CSK Auto's network.
The AT&T VPN will provide CSK Auto with the flexibility and scalability to connect the company's headquarters location to all of its stores and field operations. The technology also gives CSK Auto the ability to prioritize data applications such as point of sale and a new human resources administrative application, as well as future Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications.
In addition to the AT&T VPN solution, AT&T will provide CSK Auto with voice and data services and audio and videoconferencing. AT&T also assisted CSK Auto with consolidation activities after CSK Auto's recent acquisition of Murray's Auto Parts.
"We were impressed with the breadth and depth of the various AT&T offerings, but the level of support we received from the AT&T account team made us feel even more comfortable with migrating a large portion of CSK Auto's communications components to AT&T," said Brian Woodworth, vice president of IT operations at CSK Auto. "AT&T was able to offer us cost-efficiencies and seamless network integration. We are confident that the services provided by AT&T will support future technological growth that will help us conduct our business more efficiently."
CSK Auto can also monitor the performance of its AT&T VPN services and its applications through the secure AT&T BusinessDirect® customer portal, which provides operational efficiencies that include around-the-clock online access to real-time network performance reports and direct connections to trouble-management systems.
