AT&T Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant in Managed Security Service Provider Magic Quadrant

San Antonio, Texas, August 8, 2007

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced that leading industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. has positioned AT&T in the leaders quadrant of its "Magic Quadrant for for MSSPs, North America, 1H07" report.1

Developed by Gartner analysts as a guide for enterprises that are evaluating MSSPs, the Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision. According to the Gartner report, the service providers in the Leaders quadrant have significant "mind share" among enterprises looking to buy an MSS from pure-play security services vendors, and they generally receive positive reports on service and performance from Gartner clients. Vendors in the Leaders quadrant are typically appropriate options for enterprises requiring frequent interaction with the MSSP for analyst expertise and advice, portal-based correlation and workflow support, and flexible reporting options. For the purposes of this report, Gartner defines "managed security services" as the "remote management or monitoring of IT security information, assets and processes where the delivery of those services is via remote security operations centers, not through on-site personnel."

"We are delighted with AT&T's position in the Leaders quadrant for managed security service providers by Gartner, and I believe this reaffirms our continued investment in and commitment to delivering a robust set of managed enterprise security products and services to our customers worldwide," said Bill Archer, chief marketing officer-AT&T Business. "We're continually expanding our portfolio of managed security offerings globally, most recently with the addition of AT&T Web Security and AT&T DDoS Defense Subscription offer, to provide customers with sophisticated tools to assess and help protect their vital network infrastructure."

AT&T delivers a suite of Security and Business Continuity Services to help customers with assessing vulnerabilities, protecting infrastructure, detecting attacks, and responding to suspicious activities and events.
