AT&T U-verse Introduces New Interactive Features in the Detroit Area
Detroit, Michigan, November 19, 2007
Customers in the Detroit area now have even more reasons to choose AT&T U-verseSM TV. AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that Detroit area customers now have access to a suite of new U-verse TV features that further differentiate the service from cable.
The new interactive features — available to customers at no extra charge — include:
- AT&T U-bar, which brings customizable weather, stock, sports, and traffic information to the TV screen. Customers who also subscribe to AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet have the option to personalize the U-bar from their AT&T Yahoo! home page to display weather at a specified location, their personal stock portfolio, and scores for their favorite sports teams.
- YELLOWPAGES.COM TV, an intuitive new way to search for local businesses and other information via U-verse TV.
- AT&T Yahoo! Games, available over the television screen, including Sudoku, Solitaire, JT's Blocks, Mah-jongg Tiles, and Chess.
"We're proud of the significant growth we've seen with U-verse in Detroit," said Jennifer Jones, AT&T vice president and general manager for Michigan. "Just last month we announced that the availability of U-verse services continues to expand in the area, and now these customers can enjoy even more unmatched features and new enhancements."
AT&T is the only national provider to offer a 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service, making AT&T U-verse TV one of the most advanced television offerings available anywhere. AT&T U-verse has been recognized as the 2007 Best Business Strategy by industry analyst firm Stratecast.
The deployment of next-generation video services, including AT&T U-verse TV and AT&T HomezoneSM, reflects AT&T's strategy to become customers' preferred communications and entertainment provider and to deliver a video solution through its traditional footprint that provides greater value, flexibility and simplicity than competitors' offerings.
