AT&T Consolidates Services for NYK Logistics
NYK's Supply Chain-Management Business Benefits Globally From AT&T's Communications Services
Memphis, Tennessee, December 20, 2007
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced a contract with logistics and transportation services leader NYK Logistics. The contract extends local and long distance voice services and a range of other communications services to 70 NYK locations worldwide.
NYK will be able to prioritize company data traveling over the Internet and enhance the performance of key network applications with AT&T's Managed Internet Service (MIS) and specially designed Class of Service (CoS) capabilities. NYK will further leverage AT&T's worldwide Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure to integrate advanced network services with its global supply chain-management business.
"NYK needed global connectivity that requires a secure IP-based solution," said Darla Long, Data Center manager for NYK Logistics. "AT&T was able to extend our global networking capabilities to deliver the services and solutions that we need at a multinational level. With AT&T, we can deploy in-country IP services to support operations everywhere that we run our business."
AT&T's VPN solution will help NYK centrally manage global network applications. The solution also enables NYK to enhance security, to conduct network maintenance more efficiently and to establish network reporting capabilities to make worldwide transport shipments and tracking more reliable.
