Company Veteran and Oklahoma Native to Lead Multistate Operation

San Antonio, Texas, December 21, 2007

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today that Mark Keiffer will assume the role of AT&T Southwest president and chief executive officer. Keiffer, a veteran of AT&T's enterprise, consumer and wireless operations, will lead network, consumer and business and government sales operations in the five-state AT&T Southwest territory, which encompasses Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Keiffer succeeds José Gutiérrez, who has been named executive vice president - Enterprise Business Sales, AT&T Operations, Inc.

"Mark has deep leadership experience across a broad range of AT&T's operations, from wireless to business sales to consumer marketing," said John Stankey, AT&T group president - Telecom Operations. "His dynamic style and proven track record at AT&T make him ideal to lead the business in the Southwest states during this time of terrific growth and change."

"There is just so much happening in this company today, and it's tremendously exciting to be at the heart of it all," Keiffer said. "We are doing so many things that are so different compared to what was happening just a few years ago. With wireless, video and broadband such a growing part of our offerings today, we are poised to do great things for our customers and our stockholders."

Keiffer most recently directed the organization that has sold AT&T wireless and wireline services to more than 140,000 enterprise customers worldwide. Before that, he had held several positions: chief marketing officer for Business, president of Business Marketing, president and CEO of Sterling Commerce and vice president of Consumer Sales and Service, as well as vice president for wireless services.

Keiffer is a native of Kellyville, Okla. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from East Central University in Ada, Okla., and a master's in business management from Webster University in St. Louis. He will be based in Dallas.
