AT&T Opens New Wireless Store in Newtown
Newtown, Pennsylvania, January 31, 2008
In response to the growing customer demand for the company's exclusive wireless products and services, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced the opening of a new AT&T-owned wireless store in Newtown. This brings the total number of AT&T retail stores in Bucks County to six.
Located at Three Durham Road at Goodnoe's Corner, the store offers the latest wireless devices, including music- and video-capable phones and data devices equipped with e-mail clients and must-have applications such as Windows 6.0 for mobile.
The new store, led by industry veteran Clarence Heathcote, includes a staff of nine professional retail sales consultants trained to assist customers — both business and consumer — with purchasing decisions, customer service and technical support. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday - Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
With the addition of the Newtown store, AT&T now operates more than 90 retail stores across eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. In addition, AT&T products and services are available in over 100 authorized agent and national retail locations across the region. AT&T is a proud member of the Newtown Professional Business Association.
As part of the store's grand-opening celebration, the store is offering special discounts through Feb. 16. The store — a participant of Newtown's monthly First Friday — will offer free chocolates from 6 to 8 p.m. at the city's AHA! event Friday, Feb. 1.
"We are looking forward to bringing the Newtown community the hottest wireless voice and data products, including the Samsung BlackJack™ II, the LG Shine™, BlackBerry® devices with GPS services and, of course, the iPhone," said Heathcote. "We have a wide selection of easy-to-understand pricing options for families on a budget. We have unlimited text-messaging packages for students and teens, and we have plans designed to meet the unique needs of seniors."
Over the past three years, the company has invested nearly $500 million on its network to expand coverage, enhance capacity and to grow its third-generation (3G) mobile broadband network in Bucks Country, as well as other areas of eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware.
