AT&T Launches Customer-Focused Wireless Policy Portal

Highlights Company's Commitment to Customer Satisfaction, Makes Policies Easy to Find and Understand

Dallas, Texas, September 17, 2008

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced the launch of a wireless policy portal, www.att.com/wirelesspolicies, to help customers more easily locate and understand the most frequently sought information about their wireless service.

When you enter the portal, you can view policies in five categories and browse a timeline of AT&T's customer-focused wireless policies dating back to 1983. The portal empowers AT&T customers with easy-to-find information and reinforces AT&T's commitment to customer satisfaction.

"AT&T is dedicated to satisfying our customers, and we're proud of our advances in customer service," said Ralph de la Vega, president and chief executive officer of AT&T's wireless unit. "Customers rely on their wireless services in all aspects of their everyday lives, so they want a provider that's committed to them — to understanding their needs and meeting them."

Before Service Is Activated: Customer-Friendly Shopping Tools
AT&T's commitment to satisfaction doesn't just begin when service is activated. Customers looking for the best wireless service for their needs will find that AT&T offers more choice of devices, applications, service plans, billing options, places to shop and worldwide coverage than any other U.S. wireless company. In addition, customers can view detailed coverage, all the way down to the neighborhood street level, with the AT&T Coverage Viewer, our online interactive coverage mapping tool located at www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer.

Simplified Calling Plans
With AT&T's simplified calling plans, customers benefit from the largest Mobile-to-Mobile Calling Community in America and never pay roaming or long distance fees in the U.S. To see who is part of the 72.9 million calling community, customers can visit http://www.wireless.att.com to use our "Mobile-to-Mobile Lookup Tool."

AT&T is also the only wireless carrier that allows customers to "roll over" unused anytime minutes month to month for up to one year. In addition, all national calling plans include unlimited calls to and from anyone in the U.S. between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends, except individual $39.99 nation plans, which offer 5,000 night and weekend minutes.

During the Sale
AT&T leads the industry in educating customers about their wireless service at the point of sale through our Customer Service Summary. When customers sign up for service at one of our stores, they receive a personalized, easy-to-understand summary of their calling plan and its features, including a detailed, itemized estimate of the first bill and ongoing bills — so there are no surprises. When customers sign up by phone or online, AT&T will send the above information in a personalized, easy-to-understand welcome document via e-mail or U.S. mail.

After Service Is Activated
Once you're an AT&T customer, there are many more policies, features, services and options designed with your complete satisfaction in mind. Our no-questions-asked, 30-day return policy was the first of its kind in the industry, offering customers the opportunity to try their new devices and service without commitment. All customers can upgrade their handsets at a significant discount at the end of their contract and can adjust their calling plan and features without extending their current contract term.

All new customers and customers renewing their contracts can pay an early termination fee that gets lower the longer someone has been a customer. AT&T customers can also take advantage of the broadest global coverage of any carrier worldwide and Smart Limits for Wireless, an online tool that lets parents set limits on phone use.

Customer-Related Recognition
AT&T has been recognized for its customer satisfaction efforts by both the wireless industry and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). AT&T was the first wireless carrier in the U.S. to meet the 10 requirements of the Consumer Code and is the only carrier in the U.S. authorized by the CTIA — The Wireless Association to display that seal. AT&T also leads the industry in BBB accreditations and the number of BBB top ratings.
