AT&T Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Managed Security Services

Dallas, Texas, April 20, 2009

newsrelease

AT&T* today announced that leading industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. has positioned AT&T in the leaders quadrant of its "Magic Quadrant for MSSPs, North America" report.1

The Magic Quadrant measures vendors on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision and was developed as a guide for enterprises evaluating Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs). According to the Gartner report, the service providers in the Leaders quadrant have significant mind share among enterprises looking to buy a MSS from pure-play security services vendors, and they generally receive positive reports on service and performance from Gartner clients. Vendors in the Leaders quadrant are typically appropriate options for enterprises requiring frequent interaction with the MSSP for analyst expertise and advice, portal-based correlation and workflow support, and flexible reporting options.

For the purposes of this report, Gartner defines "managed security services" as the "remote management or monitoring of IT security information, assets and processes where the delivery of those services is via remote security operations centers, not through on-site personnel."

"We are honored that Gartner has positioned AT&T in the Leaders quadrant for managed security service providers," said Roman Pacewicz, senior vice president, strategy and application services, AT&T Business Solutions. "Our portfolio of managed security offerings is important in fulfilling AT&T’s goal of providing business customers of all sizes around the world with sophisticated tools to protect their vital network infrastructure."

AT&T’s portfolio of Security and Business Continuity Services helps customers assess vulnerabilities, protect infrastructure, detect attacks and respond to suspicious activities and events. Visit www.att.com/security for more information on AT&T security offerings.
