AT&T Wins 2009 Computerworld "Enterprise Intelligence" Award

Company Honored for Top Project in Customer Intelligence and Management Category

Dallas, Texas, October 29, 2009

AT&T* today announced that it has been awarded IDG’s Computerworld “Enterprise Intelligence” Award for the Customer Intelligence and Management category.

AT&T’s nominated solution was the AT&T Business Intelligence Data Warehouse, one of the largest data warehouses in the world, which is responsible for the vital data that is used to guide business and marketing decisions for the company. Because the solution touches nearly every area of the business, it has been responsible for saving the company more than $1 billion since its initial implementation.

“Creating a data warehouse as large and complex as the AT&T Business Intelligence Data Warehouse was a monumental task, but its success is a testament to the power of collaboration,” said Thaddeus Arroyo, CIO, AT&T. “We greatly appreciate the honor given to us by the Computerworld “Enterprise Intelligence” Awards program, and I’d like to extend my congratulations to the many groups within AT&T who took part in this project.”

“The organizations and professionals judged to be finalists and winners in the “Enterprise Intelligence” Awards program have unlocked the true value of managing today’s enterprise technology,” said Ellen Daly, senior vice president, events, IDG Enterprise. “Enterprise technology is at the center of IT infrastructure and IT management and these companies have shown they are on the leading edge of innovative technologies.”

The second annual Computerworld “Enterprise Intelligence” Awards program, sponsored by Teradata, is focused on best practices in the use of information technology solutions built on Teradata platforms. Award categories include Customer Intelligence and Management, Excellence in BI and Analytics, Government and Non-Profit, Industry Innovation and Integrated View of the Business. Finalists and winners in each category were recognized at the Teradata User Group Conference on Monday, October 19, 2009, at the Gaylord National in Washington, D.C.
