AT&T is an industry leader in developing new technology, in providing quality and innovative services to its customers, and in obtaining patents on company innovations.  Because of this position of leadership, AT&T has a policy of not evaluating or accepting offers to purchase patents of others.  This policy protects the interests of AT&T and its shareholders and helps to avoid misunderstandings and potential disputes. Therefore, AT&T will not accept any offer to purchase third party patents. 

Because AT&T engages in substantial research and development efforts, AT&T is able to keep abreast of current industry standards and technologies.  Accordingly, to protect the interests of our company, AT&T has a policy that prohibits the consideration or acceptance of the suggestions or ideas of others.  Furthermore, AT&T has a policy of not accepting the confidential information of others.  To avoid any misunderstandings, these policies are applied to the suggestions, ideas and information sent in any form from members of the general public.  Any unsolicited original documents sent to AT&T in any form will be deleted or destroyed, and no copies of such documents will be made or retained by us.  Nevertheless, any information provided by you to AT&T, whether in writing or oral form, will be considered to be in the public domain and AT&T will not be bound by any obligations of confidentiality or non-use.  Any requirement to maintain information as confidential or to refrain from using such information for any purpose must be agreed to in a written contract signed by both you and an authorized representative of AT&T.
