Get a PIN to transfer your wireless number

Want to move your wireless number to another service provider? Learn how to request a Number Transfer PIN.

About Number Transfer PINs

You must request a Number Transfer PIN to move your number from AT&T to another service provider. Your new provider will ask you for the PIN and any required account info. This helps protect you from number transfers you didn’t authorize.

You should get your Number Transfer PIN close to the time you want to submit a request to the new provider. The PIN will be the same for all numbers on the account you want to transfer. Your Number Transfer PIN will expire 4 days (14 days for business accounts) after you request it.

Keep in mind:

  • Before you can use your AT&T device on another service provider’s network, make sure to unlock your device.
  • Don’t disconnect your AT&T service before asking a new service provider to transfer your number. If you disconnect your AT&T number, you’ll have to reactivate it before your request can be completed.
  • If you have Wireless Account Lock turned on, you won’t be able to transfer your number. Learn how to turn off Wireless Account Lock
  • Suspended accounts can only request a Number Transfer PIN online or with the myAT&T app. They can’t be requested by text.
