What is the AT&T Messages app?

AT&T Messages is an application that lets you view, send, and receive texts, calls, voicemail messages, and voice text messages from a single inbox. Messages seamlessly sync and are easily accessed from your Android smartphone, Android tablet, or computer. All your communications are organized by person and sorted by when you receive them. Messages sent from AT&T Messages will appear on the Web or on your tablet as if they were sent from your Android smartphone.

AT&T Messages integrates with AT&T Address Book so that all your contacts are available to your phone and your computer. AT&T Address Book may not be available for all devices.


How do I get AT&T Messages on my phone and tablet?

The AT&T Messages application is available for your Android phone and Android tablet in the Android Market.


How much data should I expect to use out of my plan for message synchronization when using AT&T Messages?

AT&T Messages uses your phone's data connection to keep all of your messages and calls synchronized between your phone and the AT&T Messages website. The data usage incurred when synchronizing between your mobile device and the AT&T Messages website is not deducted from your data plan.

Wi-Fi usage doesn't count against the data included in your plan.

What are the phone requirements for running AT&T Messages?

You can run AT&T Messages on Android 2.3.3 or higher LTE smartphones. You need to have a smartphone data plan and receive a monthly bill for your wireless service from AT&T. For synchronizing contacts between your phone and the Web, you need AT&T Address Book.

GoPhone® or other prepaid service plans are not supported.


What are the tablet requirements for running AT&T Messages?

You can run AT&T Messages on tablets running the Android 3.0.1 operating system or higher with network access (Wi-Fi or mobile broadband). First you need to install and set up AT&T Messages on your phone. Then download the AT&T Messages application from Google Play onto your tablet, and log in on the tablet using your User ID.


Will AT&T Messages work internationally?

Yes. However, when roaming, data may automatically turn off to prevent you from incurring international data charges. Your phone or tablet network options can be changed in Settings. Additional information about international roaming is available on att.com/global
