Some commonly asked questions

How quickly can I transfer or set up my services?

It takes only a few minutes to complete your U-verse move order online. You can select a preferred installation date on the Schedule Installation page. You will receive an e-mail within 24 hours of submitting your order to confirm the order details and installation date.

Can I keep my phone number?

You may be able to keep your telephone number when you move within your current AT&T service area. After your order has been submitted, we will verify if your existing number can be assigned to your new address or notify you to request a new telephone number.

 

Does it cost anything to transfer my service?

If you are moving U-verse TV service, professional standard installation is included at no additional change. Installation includes a wireless router and connecting of at least one PC and any additional devices that are networked when the technician arrives on site. Installation also includes the use of existing, or if required, new wiring for the first three receivers/locations in your home. For more than three receivers or additional non-networked PC(s), additional charges will apply based on labor and materials needed. Up to 8 total receivers can be supported; one receiver per TV is required.

Will an installation technician be required to come to my home?

You have the following installation options:

  • You may self-install your equipment if you are only moving U-verse High Speed Internet.
  • If you are moving U-verse TV service, an install technician is required, but included at no additional charge.
How do I make changes to my service when I move?

Using our online tool, you can easily make changes to your U-verse service and equipment.

Can I take my equipment with me?

If U-verse is available at your new address, you can take your equipment with you. If U-verse is not available at your new address, you will need to return the equipment. For additional information on returning your U-verse equipment, please visit our Support site.

What if U-verse is not available at my new location?

You can easily see if U-verse is available at your new address by using our online system. If U-verse service is not available at your new address, one of our chat or call center representatives can assist with setting up other AT&T services.

Is there an early termination fee when I move from my current location?

You will not be charged an early termination fee when you have existing U-verse services and move to an area where U-verse is not available.
