The following is an example of how AT&T and Alcatel-Lucent provided a Security Assessment, in which we identified and closed gaps in security for a Multinational Insurance Company.

Challenge:

• Assess security policy to ensure compliance with regulations (HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley)
• Develop new security policy and implement it within 12 months

Solution:

Phase 1: Development of Comprehensive Security Policies – Included policy creation, updates to Employee Handbook and Security Control Requirements documents, and development of security training

• Conducted threat and vulnerability assessment and developed a threat management program
• Developed policy documentation and management and control process to help ensure ISO 17799 compliance
• Created information classification and management policy guideline to handle classified documents

Phase 2: Project managed the execution of the security policy

• Developed and documented risk management program, configuration management process, logging and log review policies and practices, commissioning and decommissioning processes, policy and practices for monitoring of unauthorized users
• Developed security hardened baseline for network devices, Unix and NT computing devices – assisted with introductory deployment
