Important information regarding transitioning your service to AT&T
Over the last few months we’ve been communicating with you, as a Cellular One of East Illinois non-prepaid wireless customer, to alert you of the upcoming transition to the AT&T network.
You will receive a packet in the mail between July 5, 2016 and July 21, 2016 that will include a new SIM card and instructions to transition your service to the AT&T network.

The transition process
For now, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll keep your current number, cell phone, and coverage, and will continue to receive your regular Cellular One bill for wireless and other services. In the first half of 2016, you’ll receive a letter explaining how to move your account to AT&T so you can take full advantage of the broad portfolio of AT&T products and services.

You can refill your Cellular One prepaid wireless account by calling Cellular One customer care at 800.735.2355. You may also visit Cellular One retail locations to refill your prepaid account.
No. Your current wireless service from Cellular One will continue to work as it does today. To ensure that you receive important information about this transition, please make sure that your current billing address is up-to-date. If you’ve recently changed your address, please contact Cellular One customer care at 800.735.2355 and update your billing address.

For now, your wireless handset protection program does not change.
AT&T offers Roadside Assistance. We’ll provide you with details of the program before you transition your service to AT&T. These programs will be available to all wireless postpaid accounts transitioned to AT&T from Cellular One.
Cellular One will no longer provide wireless service in your area. Accordingly, all Cellular One wireless accounts must transition their service. In the first half of 2016, you’ll receive notification explaining how to move your account to AT&T. Meanwhile, you can keep your current Cellular One wireless service until you move.
If there is adequate AT&T network coverage in your area, you can keep your current number(s) and port your service to AT&T today. You must:
- Agree to a credit check (deposit may be required depending on the results)
- Select from current AT&T rate plans and promotions
- Accept current AT&T service terms and conditions
Equipment, device, and features
Cellular One and AT&T have complementary network technologies; however, individual devices may not be compatible. An AT&T representative can assist you with getting a new SIM card for your current Cellular One device, if compatible.
Billing, plans, and service
Billing cycles are determined by your activation or migration date. Therefore, there is a possibility that your current billing cycle date may change.

Generally, you’ll be able to add lines of service to your family/group plan, but it may require you to change your existing rate plan.
