A hard reset (also known as an external reset) can be performed in the event that your device is locked up or settings is inaccessible. It will erase all personal information and restore the device to its factory settings. This should be a last resort, only used when you are unable to reset your device in any other way.

Press and hold the Power button.

The device must be charged to at least 30% battery to perform a reset.

Tap Power off.

If you're unable to reach this screen, hold down the Power button untll the phone powers off.

Press and hold both the Volume Down and Power buttons until the screen turns on.

Press the Volume Down button until the device displays the Recovery Mode option.

You may have to press the button several times to reach Recovery Mode.

Press the Power button to select Recovery Mode.

Once the screen changes, press and hold the Power button, and simultaneously press and release the Volume Up button.

You will need to continue holding the Power button while the Volume up button is pressed and released.

Press the Volume Down button until you reach the Wipe data/factory reset option.

Press the Power button.

Press the Volume Down button to navigate to Factory data reset.

After this step, the system will factory reset your device. A factory reset will delete all of your data and personalized settings and restore your device back to factory default settings.
