Configure Phone Options for the RIM BlackBerry BlackBerry Torch 9800 using Handheld Software Version 6.0

The following information applies to the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 using Handheld Software Version 6.0. To determine the RIM BlackBerry model number and Handheld Software version, click here.

Procedure

1. Open the All tray, then select the Options icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
2. Select one of the following options:
• Security:  Select this option to enable dialing when the device is locked.
  IMPORTANT:  Password must be enabled to configure dialing while the device is locked.
    
    
1. Select Password.
      
     
2. Scroll to and select the Allow Outgoing Calls While Locked checkbox.
      
        
•  Call Management:  Select this option to sort phone numbers or contacts on the phone screen. 
     
    
1. Select Call Logs and Lists.
    
    
2. The Call Logs and Lists screen will be displayed.
     
     
3. In the following fields, scroll to and select the desired option:
   

   Field	Description
   Show These Call Log Types in Message List	Enable or disable call log types in the message list.
   Confirm Deletion of Call Logs	Enable or disable prompt when deleting call logs.
   Initial View	Configure whether to display the dial pad, call log or contacts.
   Phone List View	Configure how contacts and numbers are sorted in the phone list.
   Show "My Number"	Enable or disable outgoing caller ID.

      
• In-Call Settings:  Select this option to change the incoming and outgoing call bahavior.
   
   
1. The In-Call Settings screen will be displayed.
       
    
2. In the following fields, scroll to and select the desired option: 
   

   Field	Description
   Auto End Calls	Configure method of ending calls.
   Auto Answer Calls	Configure method of answering calls.
   Restrict My Identity	Configure outgoing caller ID settings.
   Default Call Volume	Configure call volume settings.

    
3. Press the Menu key, then select Save.
