View, Edit, or Delete an Appointment or Meeting with the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 using Handheld Software Version 6.0

Instructions

RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 Keypad Layout
  
Calendar synchronization prerequisites View or edit a calendar entry
  1. On the Home screen, open the All tray, then scroll to and select the Calendar icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
  2. The calendar will be displayed. Scroll to and select the desired appointment or meeting.
    NOTE: By default, the initial calendar view is set to Day. If the calendar displays in Month format, scroll to and select the desired date.
      
      
  3. If the selected calendar entry is recurring, a dialog box will be displayed:
        
    • Select Open the series to open all occurrences of the appointment.
    • Select Open the occurence to open only the selected appointment.
        
  4. The calendar entry's details will be displayed.  Edit the appointment or meeting information as desired.
    NOTE: Lotus Notes users cannot edit the Start, End, Duration, or Time Zone of a recurring appointment or meeting.
      
      
  5. Press the Menu key, then select Send.
    NOTE:  Alternatively, tap the Send icon .
     
      
  6. If editing meeting information, "Send meeting update to attendees?" will be displayed.
       
    • Select Yes to send all updates to attendees.
    • Select No to skip sending updates to attendee  
View a calendar entry attachment

NOTE: Viewing calendar entry attachments requires BES 5.0.
  1. On the Home screen, open the All tray, then scroll to and select the Calendar icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
  2. The calendar will be displayed.  Scroll to and select the desired appointment or meeting.
    NOTE: By default, the initial calendar view is set to Day. If the calendar displays in Month format, scroll to and select the desired date.
      
      
  3. If the selected calendar entry is recurring, a dialog box will be displayed:
    • Select Open the series to open all occurrences of the appointment.
    • Select Open the occurence to open only the selected appointment.
        
  4. The calendar entry's details will be displayed.  Scroll to and highlight the attachment.
      
      
  5. Press the Menu key, then select View Attachments.
      
      
  6. Scroll to and select the desired attachment.
      
       
  7. The attachment will be displayed.  
      
Delete a calendar entry
  1. On the Home screen, open the All tray, then scroll to and select the Calendar icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
  2. The calendar will be displayed.  Scroll to and highlight the desired appointment or meeting.
    NOTE: By default, the initial calendar view is set to Day. If the calendar displays in Month format, scroll to and select the desired date.
            
      
  3. Press the Menu key, then select Delete.
      
      
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Single occurrence: If the appointment or meeting occurs once, select Delete.
        
        
    • Multiple occurrences: If the appointment or meeting recurs, select one of the following:
        
      • Delete the series: This deletes all current and future occurrences of the appointment or meeting.
      • Delete this occurrence: This deletes only the selected appointment or meeting, and keeps the future entries.
          
  5. If deleting a meeting, "Send meeting cancellation to attendees?" will be displayed. 
        
    • Select Yes to send cancellation to all attendees.
    • Select No to skip sending cancellation to attendees.
