Configure the Calendar Options for the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 using Handheld Software Version 6.0

The following information applies to the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 using Handheld Software Version 6.0. To determine the RIM BlackBerry model number and Handheld Software version, click here.

Procedure

1. On the Home screen, open the All tray, then scroll to and select the Calendar icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
2. Press the Menu key, select Options.
     
     
3. Scroll to and select the desired option:
    

• Calendar Options  
• Calendar Display and Actions
1. The General Calender Options screen will be displayed.
     
     
2. In the following fields, scroll to and select the desired option:
   

   Field	Description	Default
   First Day of Week	Set the day on which your weekly schedule begins.	Sun
   Start of Day	Set the time at which your daily schedule begin.	9:00 AM
   End of Day	Set the time at which your daily schedule ends.	5:00 PM
   Initial View	Set the format that appears when the calendar opens.	Day
   Show Free Time in Agenda View	Set to show if free time is visible in agenda view.	Checked
   Show End Time in Agenda View	Set to show if appointment end time is visible in agenda view.	Checked
   Snooze	Set the option to snooze a reminder for an appointment or meeting alert.	5 Min.
   Default Reminder	Set the amount of time before an appointment or meeting that the handheld notifies you.	15 Min.
   Enable Quick Entry	Set whether you can add appointments quickly when the calendar is in Day format.	Checked
   Confirm Delete	Set whether you are prompted before appointments are deleted.	Checked
   Keep Appointments	Set amount of time appointments are kept on device.	60 Days
   Show Tasks	Set the option to view Tasks from the calendar.	Unchecked
   Show Alarms	Set the option to view Alarms from the calendar.	Checked

    
3. Press the Menu key, then select Save.
     
    
• Conference Calling
1. Enter the desired phone number and access code for the moderator and participants.
     
     
2. Press the Menu key, then select Save.
     
    
• Accounts
     
   
• Individual Calendar Properties (BIS Only)
  NOTE: An individual calendar will appear for each e-mail address confirgured to the device. Options are specific to each calendar configured.
1. The Calender Properties screen will be displayed.
       
     
2. In the following fields, scroll to and select the desired option:
   

   Field	Description	Default
   Appointment Color	Set the appointments color.	Blue
   Display Reminders	Set display reminders to appear.	Checked
   Number of Entries	Number of current calendar entries.	N/A

       
3. Press the Menu key, then select Save.  
          
    
• Desktop (BlackBerry) Calendar Properties (BES Only)
1. The Calender Properties screen will be displayed.
     
     
2. In the following fields, scroll to and select the desired option:
   

   Field	Description	Default
   Appointment Color	Set the appointments color.	Blue
   Wireless Synchronization	Set wireless synchronization with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.	Checked
   Display Reminders	Set display reminders to appear.	Checked
   Number of Entries	Number of current calendar entries.	N/A

    
3. Press the Menu key, then select Save.
