Configure BlackBerry Messenger Options for the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 using Handheld Software Version 6.0

RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 Keypad Layout

Prerequisites

1. RIM BlackBerry data rate plan.
2. Verify one of the following connections is established:
• AT&T wireless data network attach
• Wi-Fi (non-AT&T) network attach
3. Verify BlackBerry Messenger has been installed.
4. BlackBerry Messenger contact must be added to contact list.

Procedure

1. On the Home screen, open the All tray, then scroll to and select the BlackBerry Messenger icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
2. Press the Menu key, then select Options.
     
     
3. The options screen will be displayed.
     
     
4. In the following fields, select the desired option:

  Automatically Accept Voice Notes	Set whether to auto accept voice notes or have the option to accept or decline.	Checked
  Automatically Record When Sending Voice Notes	Enable or disable automatic recording of a voice note when sending a voice file.	Checked
  Vibrate When Receiving a Ping	Enable or disable whether device vibrates when a PIN message is received.	Checked
