Overview
 
The Wi-Fi Diagnostics tool is an application that provides Wi-Fi configuration and connection information for the BlackBerry device. The Wi-Fi Diagnostics tool creates a report that the BlackBerry device user can e-mail to a technical support representative or network administrator for assistance with Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
 
Prerequisite

An active Wi-Fi connection

Procedure

1. On the Home screen, open the All tray, then scroll to and select the Manage Connections icon  (to select, press the trackpad or tap the screen).
2. Scroll to and select Set Up Wi-Fi Network.
     
     
3. Press the Menu key, then select Troubleshoot.
    
     
4. Select Wi-Fi Diagnostics.
     
      
5. Press the Menu key, then scroll to and select Options.
     
      
6. In the Display Mode field, scroll to and select Advanced.
   NOTE:  If this field is already set to Advanced, press the Menu key, then select Close.  Skip to Step 8.
     
      
7. Press the Menu key, then select Save.
     
     
8. Verify the following: 
     
• Authentication: Displays a green check mark.
• Local IP address: An IP address is displayed.
• DNS Suffix: Displays a location.
   
9. Press the Menu key, then scroll to and select one of the following options: 
     
• E-mail Report: Send the Diagnostic Report via E-mail.
• PIN Report: Send the Diagnostic Report via PIN.
• Close: Return to Diagnostic Test Application main screen.

If unable to detect connection information

1. Verify Wi-Fi network status.
2. If unable to detect connection information, please escalate accordingly for assistance with configuration and settings specifc to the network:
• If troubleshooting a corporate network, please contact your IT/System Administrator.
• If troubleshooting a home network, please contact the manufacturer of the Wi-Fi access point/wireless router.
• If troubleshooting a public network (hotspot), please contact the Wi-Fi network provider.
