Send, Receive, or Delete a Picture, Audio, or Video Multimedia Message (MMS) with the AT&T Z221

Instructions

AT&T Z221 Keypad Layout

 

Send MMS

  1. From the standby screen, press Menu.


  2. Select Messaging.


  3. Select Create Message.


  4. To send to a Contact not stored in the Address Book:
    1. Enter the Recipients number.
      • If sending a message to a number within the U.S., use the mandatory 10-digit pattern (Example: "4075551212").
      • If sending a message to an international number, enter "011" or enter a "+" followed by the correct country code and number.

  5. To send to a Contact stored in the Address Book:
    1. Select Contacts.


    2. Highlight the desired Recipient(s) and press Check.


    3. Once all desired recipients are Checked, press Done.


  6. Enter the desired message, then press Options.


  7. Select Insert.


  8. Select the type of file you wish to send.
    NOTE: In this example, we will take a picture with the device camera. 


  9. Select Capture.
    NOTE: The captured picture will automatically be added to the message.
       

  10. Press Send.


Receive MMS
  1. To read a message when it first arrives:
    1. Press View.  Press Back to remove the notification from the standby screen.The Message will be displayed.
       

  2. To read a message later:
    1. From the standby screen, press Menu.


    2. Select Messaging.


    3. Select Inbox.


    4. Highlight the desired message and press Select.


    5. The message will be displayed.
Delete MMS

  1. From the standby screen, press Menu.


  2. Select Messaging.


  3. Select Inbox.


  4. Highlight the desired message and press Options.


  5. Select Delete.


  6. Select the desired delete option.


  7. Scroll to and Check all desired messages to delete.


  8. Once all desired messages have been checked, select Done.


  9. Select Yes to confirm deletion.


 Unable to send or receive MMS

  1. Verify that the device can access the Internet.
  2. Verify Multimedia Message Settings.
  3. Verify file size, format, and carrier compatibility.
  4. Verify that MMS blocking and other dialing restrictions are disabled.
  5. Verify that the message center number is programmed correctly.
  6. Power the device off and back on.
  7. Attempt to send or receive a multimedia message (MMS) again.
