Remove or Insert the Memory (Media) Card for the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9810


Use a MicroSD media card to extend the memory available on the BlackBerry Torch 9810 for storing media files such as ring tones, videos, pictures, or songs. The BlackBerry Torch 9810 supports MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards with up to 32GB of memory.



Insert the memory (media) card

  1. Turn off device.
  2. Remove the back cover by pressing the BlackBerry logo and pushing downward.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Lift the edge of the cover for the media card slot.
  5. Hold the media card so that the metal contacts on the media card point toward the front of your device. Slide the media card into the media card slot so that the media card clicks into place.
  6. Flip the cover for the media card slot down.
  7. Replace the battery by making sure the gold pads of the battery match up with the gold contacts on the device.
  8. Replace the back cover by sliding it up until it clicks into place.
  9. Turn on the device.

Reformat the memory (media) card 

  1. On the home screen, open the All tray, and then select .  
    NOTE: Formatting the memory (media) card will result in the loss of all data that has been saved on it.
  2. Scroll to and select Device.
  3. Scroll to and select Storage.
  4. Press the Menu key, and then select Format.
  5. Select Media Card.
  6. A warning message will display, select Yes to continue. When complete, select OK.
