Import Device Data from your Current BlackBerry to the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9810 using BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0

Overview 
   
You can use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to transfer your device data and settings (supported email messages, organizer data, and third-party applications) from your previous BlackBerry smartphone to a new BlackBerry smartphone.  If your email account is associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, your email settings are also imported to your new device.
   
Procedure

1. Open BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer.
2. Connect the original BlackBerry smartphone to your computer using the USB cable provided.
   NOTE: If this is the first time the original BlackBerry has been connected to the computer, click Cancel on the 'You've connected a new BlackBerry device.' window that will appear.
3. Click Device.
    
     
4. Click Switch devices....
    
    
5. Click the icon for your current (previous) device.
    
    
6. Select the desired options, and then click Next.
    
    
7. Connect the new BlackBerry device, and then click Next.
    
    
8. Click the icon for your new device.
    
    
9. When the transfer completes, click Finish.
    
    
10. Click Close.
     
     
1. If you desire to erase all data from the previous device, click Delete data from previous device.
2. The following message will be displayed.
     
3. Click Delete data.
    
11. To ensure emails are directed to your new BlackBerry:
• Configure a Personal Email Account with the BlackBerry Internet Service
• Configure a Corporate Exchange (Enterprise) Email Account with the BlackBerry Internet Service
• Perform a Wireless Enterprise Activation with a RIM BlackBerry
