Getting started

  1. You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
  2. You must connect your device to Wi-Fi to download the update.
  3. Corporate customers using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) should check with their IT Department or BES Administrator for this software update.
  4. You can also update using your personal computer with an internet connection and Micro USB cable.

Update & verify software

To update the software using Wi-Fi
  1. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. From the home screen, tap All > Options > Device > Software Updates.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.

Update the software using a computer
  1. Connect your BlackBerry to the computer with the included Micro USB cable.
  2. From the computer, visit www.blackberry.com/upgrades.
  3. Select Check for Updates and follow the on-screen instructions.

To verify the software update
  1. From the home screen, tap All > Options > Device > Software Updates.
  2. Your device has the latest software if the OS matches the current update details.
