Details

NumberSync provides the ability to sync your iPhone mobile number with other Apple devices. You can make and receive phone calls from those devices using your mobile number. For example, if your iPad is synched you can place or receive a call from the iPad, even if your iPhone is turned off or in another location. You can sync up to five compatible Apple devices with your Wi-Fi Calling enabled iPhone.

Your NumberSync device must have access to an Internet connection. This can be over Wi-Fi, wired broadband, or mobile broadband. If you use a Wi-Fi connection and go out of range or the connection is lost, the call will drop.

Billing for NumberSync
NumberSync billing is based on the number being called.

Domestic calls
NumberSync calls are not billed voice airtime or usage charges when calling to the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S.V.I. This applies even if you're traveling abroad and call a U.S. number.

International long distance calls
NumberSync calls to international numbers will be billed international long distance rates based on your smartphone plan or international long distance package. This applies no matter where the call is made from. For example, if you’re traveling abroad and call the restaurant across the street from your hotel, the call will be billed.

NumberSync over mobile broadband
When you use mobile broadband, NumberSync calls made and received count as data and incur data usage rates. This applies if you're calling from the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S.V.I., or traveling abroad.  This includes standard data rates in the U.S. and international roaming data rates when traveling abroad.

Note: If the secondary device is billed to a non-AT&T wireless carrier, the following applies:
  • Mobile data: Usage and charges will be based on your data plan with the other carrier. International mobile data usage rates will be based on the rates determined by that carrier. Applicable usage and charges will appear on the other carrier’s bill, not your AT&T bill.
  • Voice: Usage will be the same as using an AT&T sold secondary device. Applicable international long distance or premium (411) charges will appear your AT&T bill.
