Atlanta, Georgia, April 12, 2013

Nothing screams passion more than sports fans who pour their hearts and soul into their favorite team. It’s that heart of a champion that moves masses, creates vibrant atmospheres across college and professional stadiums, and ultimately encourages teams to win championships.

To recognize that undefeated spirit, AT&T has teamed up with five-time Latin GRAMMY winners Jesse & Joy to create Corazón de Campeón (Heart of a Champion), an upbeat tune that reflects the undefeated spirit and unconditional patriotism of Mexican National Team fans in the United States . Produced by Jesse, this vibrant and contagious song exemplifies the passion that Mexican soccer fans display at stadiums across the U.S.

“AT&T has scored the winning goal with this initiative, and we are as ecstatic as we are humbled to have been chosen to use our creativity and songwriting skills to create such a unique song,” said Mexican duo Jesse & Joy. “As soccer fans ourselves, we have great respect for the Mexican National Team. Soccer has no language barriers, so we encourage everyone to learn the song and chant it off the top of their lungs to support their national team.”

For many Hispanic fans, soccer is a way of life. AT&T has a long tradition of working tirelessly to connect Hispanic consumers with their passions, and do it in a way that’s fun and culturally relevant. The creation of a fun, celebratory song that all Mexican soccer fans in the U.S. can embrace and own seemed like a natural fit.

“Corazón de Campeón reminds us that the sport we grew up watching and playing continues to live in our hearts, despite the wide range of great professional sports that exist today,” said Roberto García, AT&T Director of Hispanic Marketing. “Every four years, fútbol fans across the world rally around their countries and players to witness the largest competition on the global soccer stage. With Corazón de Campeón, we hope that our consumers and Mexican National Team fans in the U.S. develop a deeper connection with their roots, the sport, and their star players.”

Starting April 11, fans can visit to listen to the song; the first 100 free downloads of the song will be available each day while supplies last. In addition, they can view behind-the-scenes clips, check out the Mexican National Team schedule in the U.S., and join the conversation on Twitter by using the hashtag #corazoncampeon. In addition, fans may enter for a chance to win a trip for two to an upcoming Mexican National Team game. No purchase is necessary to participate. The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Mississippi).
