AT&T Secures New Contract with Shawnee Public Schools

Oklahoma School District Gets Connected with New Data Networking Solution

Shawnee, Oklahoma, March 3, 2006

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new contract to provide data and networking services to Shawnee Public Schools, a public school district serving Shawnee, Okla., with one early childhood center, four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and one alternative school.

Under the terms of the five-year contract, AT&T will deliver a customized switched metro Ethernet (CSME) and dedicated Internet access (DIA) to each of the eight schools in the Shawnee district. These services will connect the schools to a single, reliable network and will provide high speed Internet access with an expanded bandwidth to support the district's educational and administrative programs, as required by the state of Oklahoma. This solution also aligns with AT&T's convergence strategy, which will enable Shawnee students and faculty to enjoy faster Internet connection speeds with increased security and reliability through the converged network infrastructure. AT&T is the districtwide primary service provider of data, network and voice services to the Shawnee school district.

"In order to meet state requirements and to support our bandwidth-intensive applications, we needed a provider with the capability to deliver a highly reliable solution at a cost-effective rate," said Lynda Nichol, director of Technology and Public Relations, Shawnee Public Schools. "We succeeded in finding this with AT&T."
