AT&T Secures New Contract with First Western Bank

Arkansas Bank Increases Security, Boosts Efficiency for Improved Customer Service

Rogers, Arkansas, May 17, 2006

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new data networking services contract with Arkansas-based First Western Bank.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will deploy Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Private Network Transport (PNT) to 12 First Western Bank locations, providing a scalable, dependable network solution that ensures rapid, consistent access to business-critical data over AT&T's MPLS enabled IP backbone.

The solution will provide expanded bandwidth to support simultaneous transport of video and voice data across First Western Bank's wide area network (WAN). The company will have the ability to launch videoconferencing applications across multiple remote sites, as well as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) capabilities, which will enhance the company's network infrastructure for improved employee efficiency. The increased bandwidth will also allow for better call quality and faster data transmissions for its banking applications, which will help to improve customer service.

The MPLS PNT solution aligns with AT&T's convergence strategy to deliver high levels of efficiency and security to First Western Bank's network infrastructure. AT&T is the bank's primary provider of voice and data services.

"We're constantly looking for ways to increase our efficiency and improve service to our customers," said Mike Fair, assistant vice president of First Western Bank. "The solution provided by AT&T will not only provide additional security for our data transactions but also help us streamline our communications and enable us to deliver the highest levels of customer service."
